Film club

Sallie Edwards and I set up film club in May 2013, and we were delighted that we had about 50 members plus a children’s film club too on a Saturday afternoon. Our first film was Argo (2012); full house and a round of applause at the end a fantastic start to a new initiative. As with most things, numbers have dwindled and children have grown up !

Now we have about 20 members and out of that about a dozen regular attendees so hopefully what you are doing will generate an increase so thank you.

Film Club is held at the village hall on the third Friday of the month, doors open at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start. Pre lockdown we offered a complimentary tea or coffee  with the film or of course you could bring anything stronger with you.

Membership runs from May each year and is £20 for 9 films. We don’t show films in July, August and December as people are busy with family. You can also just arrive on the evening if it is just one film you are interested in and that is £4.

Previous films have included Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri, The Wife, Collette and Widows. We tend to choose blockbusters but always open to any suggestions and the audience is pretty broad minded!

Our plans are to open again in January 2021. Films for 2021 are listed below.
