South Darley Parish Council has written to the East Midlands Mayor, Claire Ward, to raise local concerns over recent changes to the ‘Matlock-to-Derby’ train timetable.
Since December 2025, later train departure times from Matlock has left workers and students with little time to reach their place of work and education when arriving in Nottingham. Listening to Parishioners, it was also clear that the change has led to overcrowding on earlier train services and forcing commuters back to the use of their car.
In a letter to the Mayor, South Darley Parish Council has asked that the original train timetable be reinstated.
