Our responsibilities

Allotments

There are currently 16 plots of which several have been split into half plots to give more people access to an allotment. There are currently no plots available and there is a waiting list. Allocation priority is given to parish residents.

Paths

The parish council has a Minor Maintenance Agreement with DCC whereby it undertakes to keep the paths free of surface vegetation and carry out light strimming of sides of pathways along with waymarking.

Plantation at Cross Green

This is an area of woodland gifted to the parish many years ago which the council maintains for use by residents and the school.

Grit/salt bins

The council owns a number of bins around the parish. These are in addition to the Derbyshire County Council bins. The parish council arranges for refilling of its bins.

Church clock

As a public timepiece, the clock’s annual maintenance is paid for by the council.

Benches

The council maintains and replaces, where necessary, several public benches around the parish.

Planning

As part of the parish falls within the Peak District National Park, there are two planning authorities: Derbyshire Dales District Council and the Peak District National Park Authority. The parish council is a consultee for both.
