Notice of Casual Vacancy in the Office of Parish Councillor (Wensley Ward)

Notice is hereby given that a casual vacancy has occurred in the Office of Parish Councillor for the Wensley Ward of South Darley Parish Council.  

The vacancy is to be filled by co-option at the next meeting of South Darley Parish Council. This meeting will be held on Tuesday 8th September at 7pm in the Wensley Reading Rooms.

If you wish to serve as a Parish Councillor and be considered as a candidate, please apply in writing or by email to the Clerk in writing.

Please provide your name, contact details, a bit about yourself and why you would like to join South Darley Parish Council.

To qualify to be a Parish Councillor, a candidate must…

  • be a British citizen
  • aged over 18 years old and an elector
  • not be disqualified from holding office as a Councillor
  • live in or within 3 miles of the South Darley Parish boundary OR
  • occupy as owner or tenant any land or premises in the South Darley Parish OR
  • have their principal or only place of work in the South Darley Parish.

Previous experience or knowledge of being a Parish Councillor is not essential, but candidates should have a keen interest in the South Darley Parish and a willingness to serve the interests of the community.
